Information
Cary Ballet's renowned Intensive Summer Program implements our carefully designed curriculum of rigorous, daily classes for qualified students.
Intensive students will notice a marked improvement as they enjoy extended daily ballet technique, pointe, and variations classes. Their experience is enhanced with training in other dance techniques, such as jazz, modern, character, and contemporary as well as Pilates, PBT, and our special therapeutic conditioning classes, designed to optimize the dancer’s strength, flexibility, extension, and turnout. We are also proud to offer seminars in topics developed specifically for dancers such as injury prevention & mental wellness. Acceptance in Intensives is by audition only, and reserved for healthy, serious-minded dancers who demonstrate a high level of achievement and potential.
Our unique program offers six weeks of intensive training with Cary Ballet's renowned faculty and master teachers in a flexible session-based enrollment. We provide the opportunity for close interaction with highly regarded Ballet Masters in a personal, nurturing environment.
For the maximum benefit to our students, all dancers will attend a placement class the first day of the session. Level placement is at the sole discretion of the faculty. Summer training culminates in a Repertory Presentation of variations, character, and repertoire learned throughout the session.

2023 Summer Intensive Housing
Cary Ballet Conservatory’s Boarding Program provides visiting dancers a home away from home experience. Selected dancers stay at a wonderful, nearby facility with a dedicated Residence Manager who provides support and care to our visiting students. . Just around the corner, dancers are housed close enough to walk in a friendly neighborhood to and from the studio each day.
When the dancers are away from the studio our Residence Manager arranges chaperoned activities/outings for residence students. Those activities may include pizza parties, a Durham Bulls game, a theatre show, a trip to the mall or the movies. As the summer schedules are published, we will have a more accurate list of activities. Additional fees will apply for some activities.
Besides the excellent training the dancers receive at Cary Ballet, we believe that what makes the Summer Intensive experience so memorable, is the friendships the dancers make with other dancers who share their passion for dance.
